We would take shifts sleeping by you out in the living room. We were afraid about you choking in the night so we laid out a baby blanket for you to lay on and one of us would lay next to you while the other was in bed. Cutting your little finger nails was terrifying! You have a little red birth mark (I think they called it a hemangioma) on both the backside of your right thigh and a smaller one on your right elbow. Your eyes are a dark blue and you had very little hair. My mom came up the first two weekends and helped me watch you because Chris was at work and it was soo exhausting. Mason also came up and watched you while a took a nap a few times. On July 2nd we had a appointment with Dr. Vander Pol for you. She said that you were 9lbs 1oz. Both your plastibell and your umbilical came off later that day once we had gotten home. Your first trip to Beatrice was for fourth of July! On July 16th you smiled for the first time :) It was wonderful. You had smiled in your sleep but we didn't count those.
